
With enough resources and programming know-how, Masters can tweak the Skins' items to alter a Fragment's stats only when that particular Skin is active. Skins are purely cosmetic in the beginning. Masters then can design the new Skins on their own, or commission other Masters to create new Skins on their behalf. Masters can unlock more Skin slots as they progress through the game, and the option to purchase extra Skin slots on top of the unlockable slots opens up after a Master's made certain achievements.

After the Master goes through the Tutorial with their Fragment, the game then gives the Fragment two free Skins, basing their designs off the Default skin's themes for thematic consistency. The first Skin is a "Default" skin, a thematically unified approximation of the Master's unique personal traits/quirks during the Fragment Creation questionnaire. In the beginning, Fragments come with three Skins - a set of cosmetics that make up a united look - pre-designed, free of charge.
